The Elks National Hoop Shoot program is a free throw program for youth ages 8-13 that started in 1972. Millions of students each year enter for their chance to compete.

There are 2 divisions and 3 age categories in each division:

Division-Boys

1. Ages 8-9

2. Ages 10-11

3. Ages 12-13

​

Division-Girls

1. Ages 8-9

2. Ages 10-11

3. Ages 12-13

The competition has 4 tiers to try and advance through, Local, District, State, and Regional. Then the winners of Regional will move on to Nationals.
